Who is this course for?
This training is for you if you work with (or are learning to work with) 3 – 5-year-olds and want to integrate a more drama-based, imaginative approach to all aspects of your practice. This course is also a great way for those who have taken our introductory training, ‘An Introduction to Imaginative Play’ and wish to further develop their skills. What will you learn?
You will learn how to use six Pyjama Drama techniques to facilitate imaginative play with 3 – 5-year-olds, even if you have no prior experience of drama, or consider yourself to be naturally shy. You will learn how to use these techniques to:
Create imaginary worlds for children to explore
Improve children’s social, emotional and physical well-being
Boost key skills, including language and communication
Develop a more playful, play-centred, imaginative approach
Adopt positive classroom management strategies
Adapt what you learn to different topics
Address cultural capital deficit
Deliver a range of original, Pyjama Drama games and music and movement activities
